I've actually removed the o-ring and replaced with the "coke tabs", worked fine, no leaking. But that's because I was reusing a piece and I recall the o-ring looked unusable.

I'd say if your NEW pieces have a good condition o-ring on it, you're fine to just use that. If they're not in good condition, you can replace the o-ring or replace with a "coke tab" safely. I keep a supply of coke tabs because when I get the chance, I replace my LS6 coolant crossovers with LS1 tubes

Dorman 56390. $8.49 for a pack of 4 from my local parts store.

I reused the stock LS1 tubes, cut & crimped them. Picked up the Dorman gaskets to replace the stockers, for cheap insurance. I have no experience with the LS6 tubes, however. This post is solely to offer an alternative option for finding the coolant crossover tube gasket.

I used the LS6 coolant line/ plugs with the built in O rings. No leaks.

I stand corrected. I had a Ls6 setup that came on a motor I have and when I pulled it apart it had the "coke tabs". I guess it was an older version and there are different gens of LS6 tubes? Built in o-ring sounds nice... Those tabs are a rip off from the dealer

There was a p/n change on the tubes a few years back. That's probably when the seal type changed.
