Horsepower Question
So this summer i purchased a 1999 z28, i noticed it had a ton of aftermarket parts and i wanted to figure out everything it has, so i went to the place that did all the work to the car; i know who did it because the name was in a few places on the car. Anyways, the car has a fast lsx102mm intake manifold with rails and throttle body, k&n air filter, long tube headers, 3 inch stainless steel y-pipe with magnaflow and no cats, injectors(not sure of the size), hypertech computer, msd plugs wires, etc. the car was built up for a supercharger but wanted the power a different way, stupid choice but whatever. i was told by the shop that he went and had it dyno tuned and it had 200 hp. is that even possible?doesnt sound like it to me, at all.it has tons of power but they said it had too much air compared to fuel?i have no idea, could anyone tell me how much power you think im pushing? i would think around 375 or so? Thanks

what pistons dose it have ?whats the cc of the head chamber ?what cam dose it have ?maybe do a compression test.if the car is running rich have it tuned correctly.do you have dyno sheets ?

yes at the flywheel, notice i said RWHP (that is rear wheel horsepower)
40-50whp from headers and a 102mm intake???? not even close.... even full bolt on 346ci cars struggle to make 350whp, he isnt full bolt on.

The 325 was claimed at the wheels actually.. not the flywheel. A stock auto ls1 rarely puts down only 275.

motor trend dyno'd these cars when they first came out, after break in period etc and made 268 wheel horsepower.
the 01+ made a little more power because of small changes but still are only around 285whp on a correctly calibrated dyno.
the OPs car should be making 325-340whp with a proper tune, i said 275-330 because he was told the tune was WAY off which could mean anything.

Possible the MAF is dirty and not picking up all the air so it's running super lean? I had mine dyno'd at 305hp after a cam install and come to find out it was running like ~18:1 AFR because the engine was getting more air than it thought it was. Cleaned the MAF and dyno'd at 398.8hp with the clutch slipping at 5700rpm.
