Poly motor and trams mounts...
So, I did the poly motor mounts when I did my header swap. After a little beating on the car the trans is slapping the tunnel on hard acceleration now. I ordered a poly trans mount and was wondering if that would be an issue. Seems I remember hearing a long time ago that its ok to have one or the other, but not both. Is there any truth to that or is it just that I will feel more vibes and noise now. Thanks in advance.

you can do a poly trans mount and MM's however I had it for about 2 weeks and took it off, annoyed the crap outta me because everything vibrated at random speeds.put in an oem one and all is well. mine was an energy suspension my buddy has the same setup with prothane and its not as bad...

You can limit vibration issues by not using the plate they include with it and by grinding down the humps on the bottom so its the same hight as the stock rubber piece, that's what I did.

So don't use the plate and shave the preload bumps and it will not feel as bad and still do the job. I will let you know how it goes, it should arrive some time next week.

I like the poly motor mounts personally. I don't drive a luxury car, I drive a Camaro. Yeah it vibrates more than a stock car, but at least the engine isn't trying to touch the inner fender wells.

Good to know. I might be a little different than some as I dailied my 98 wit a roll cage and no swing outs. It only takes a few good launches to trash a stock trans mount, so I wanted something to take the abuse. If you don't race your car, I see the point about the vibes. Of course, I haven't raced this one with sticky tires and the trans is already hitting the tunnel.

I've got solid motor mounts and a poly trans mount on the car now. I'm not too picky about vibration or noise, but with solid motor mounts and 4.11s in a 10-bolt, the poly trans mount just transfers too much noise. Couple that with dumped duals, and it's impossible to talk to someone sitting in the passenger seat.
