Default Texas Speed headers good reputation?

Looking to buy a good set of headers for my car soon. Lid and SLP LM1 exhaust is all I have now. Found these headers:

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-3516-te...e-headers.aspx

$410 for stainless steel long tubes and 1 3/4 inch. Do these guys have a good reputation? Car won't be seeing any snow, but it is my DD. Anything else I should watch out for?

Decent header, made in china. Buy a set of eBay headers and save yourself some cash.

How much HP did you pick up from adding yours? Did you tune it also?

Great set of headers, the y pipe on the other hand (i bought the ORY) is a...well its not the best lets just say that. It fit though..That and if you plan on going ORY as well than i would suggest get a different cat-back..LM1+Long Tubes+ ORY = Awful..

What's the difference between 1 3/4 and 1 7/8? The smaller ones are a lot cheaper I've noticed.

I'm not getting the ORY. I'm keeping my cats on.

I know people say LM1 plus headers sounds awful and is very loud, but does it make a difference that I'm keeping my cats on?

I may switch out the LM1 resonator and get a Borla muffler.

Is it possible to get a y-pipe from somewhere else that will fit with the headers so I don't have those fitment issues?

All your questions have been covered before.

The bigger headers make more power on a stock engine.
HP increase depends on other mods
The LM1 and chatted Y pipe sound awesome...search. A member just posted a video of this exact setup.
Yes you could get another Y pipe, but they all don't fit perfectly...go to ebay and buy the headers and Y pipe combo (ran that setup and loved it).

My TSP 1 3/4ths fit like crap.. #5 primary hit the steering shaft so we had to modify it, passenger header hits the K, and the damn ORY hangs so damn low I scrap on everything and rattles the floor board. FWIW I have brand new poly engine and trans mounts.. We just put some Kooks 1 7/8ths with there ORY and everything tucks up so nice and fits perfect..

Best fitment and ground clearance will come from a set of Bbk longtubes. 1 3/4 and chrome for 300 bucks. Very easy install and fitment and ground clearance was better than stock manifolds. Only drawback is they come in 1 3/4 so they won't make the little extra the 1 7/8 will make and they are chrome so after 1k mikes they will turn bluish grey so for those that care about how pretty their headers look they arnt the way to go lol. Other than that for a bolt on car they make good power and are cheap and easy install.

I have the 1-7/8 on my car with the TSP true duals. Installation was a piece of cake. Both sides went up with only having to remove the oil filter and nothing else. It's all about getting the car high enough in the air.

Forget the eBay headers. Last I checked the O2 sensor bungs were still on the OUTSIDE of the collector. If you caliper the ID of the primary you'll find they are much smaller than 1 3/4"

I have TSP 1 7/8" stainless and have nothing but great things to say. For install youll need to remove the steering shaft (2 1mm bolts I believe) the oil drain plug and the oil filter. The passenger side slides up like some well oiled *******.

If the mod bug already has you, get the 1 7/8" and be done with it. BBK was out of the question with me due to the 2.5" Y pipe. The TSP Y fits great IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME. It's not something that can just be slapped on. It takes tweaking and twisting here and there to get it all aligned.

Duals on the other hand are a piece of cake. When I did my heads and cam 2 weeks ago I reinstalled everything by myself. Took 15 minutes. Do you guys have emissions is MS? In LA we don't.

Absolutely love mine. As someone else said, the install went very smooth. I did also go ahead and yank the starter out of the way on the passenger side, and don't think I could have gotten the manifolds out any other way lol. Honestly, getting the old crap out was harder than getting the new headers in - also if you don't think you need to, go ahead and get motor mounts too. I didn't and I'm living to regret it. 10K miles later mine are now banging the floor pulling out in first -.- Guess after the headers I twisted on her a few too many times LOL
