rookie tranny question
im about(when i get back from deployment) to replace my clutch im told i should replace my throwout bearing when i do is the release bearing the same thing as the throwout

Yes, many clutch kits have them included.
Be sure and check the slave cylinder for wear or leaks.
While your at it, you might save some headaches and replace the clutch master cyl with one like Ticks or etc. The extended bleeding hose works great.

whats the point of the extended bleed line? and is there a way to tell if the master needs replacing cus im not sure what was done to this bird before i got it its had quite a few owners and alot of miles (160*** and like five or six owners)

The slave and throw out are different. The throw out is the bearing that rides on the slave. If you order a throw out, you will get just that. If you order a slave, you will get just that. Sometimes, when you buy a slave, depending on who you order it from, they will include the throw out bearing.

The extended bleed line makes it alot easier to to bleed the air out of the system worth buying in my opinion tick performance sells a good one. if your doing a clutch replacement i would up grade and get the ls7 clutch kit with the fly wheel, since your in there i would replace the pilot bearing, slave and throwout bearing scroggin dicky usually has good prices and i would also change out the clutch master cylinder to a tick slave cylinder just my two cents.
