Default dipstick blew out

I just got my engine back in my car and had about 75 miles on it when some young kid in a bottle fed ricer pulled up beside me at about a 30 mph roll. I could not help myself and raced him. I blew his *** away but smelled a little oil burning on down the road. When I lifted the hood I saw the oil dipstick up out of the tube about an inch and a mist of oil on my coilpacks and plug wires. I have a dual catch can system on the car and when I drained the catch cans I got about a teaspoon of oil out of the dirty can. Anyone have any ideas why this happened?

Sounds like some blow by maybe? I would put a breather filter were the oil cap goes so that the pressure has a place to escape instead of blowing your dipstick out!

I would keep a pcv on it. Just make sure its working. If your pcv isn't working it will build up pressure. I would imagine it'd take alot of blow by to push the dipstick out. After you make sure the catch can routing is ok and the pcv is working pull the oil fill cap off and see if you have any blow by. I would bet its a pcv problem though.

I ran the car about 400 miles this weekend. The oil in the catch can went away and the dipstick is staying in. I think the rings weren't completely seated. Thanks for the help guys. I know the pcv systems on these ls1's are a POS!
