Default Homemade CAI?

A friend and I have been playing with the idea of trying to make a cold air intake for his Camaro. We were thinking of getting some sheet metal or aluminum and pieceing together a Chrs1313 style ram air for cheap. I was just curious if any of you guys have done this and how it turned out. Also what type of metal you used. Thanks
