Default Mech or Electrical Guages

What is everyone running for guages? If it is mech., do you just replace the electrical with the mechanical in the same places?? Is one more accurate than another?

I think all temp gauges would have to be electrical. I don't see how mechanical would work. In any case, electrical gauges are better than the mechanical. They cost quite a bit more, but are safer and generally easier to install. On our cars, a mechanical fuel pressure gauge is not reccomended. This means running a fuel line right to the gauge, inside the cabin, which is not a good idea. Electric FP gauge would just have a sensor somewhere in the fuel system to measure the pressue, then a wire that sends that info to the gauge. Much safer, but much more expensive.

Just thin if you are putting them on the a pillar or something, say you have water or oil temp. Just say that for some reason that line comes off.... Get my drift? At least if you have it mounted with an electrical if it comes off it all outside the interior or at least all you have to do it plug it back in if the guages comes unwired. Just my .02
