Question Y-pipe size?

I'm trying to decide between Stainless Works and Kooks or QTP headers w/ a catted y-pipe. I know that the Kooks and QTP y-pipes are 3", and I think the Stainless Works y-pipe is 2 1/2". Is 2 1/2" big enough, or do I need the 3"? I'm just looking to build a heads & cam (400 RWHP or so) street car.

Go with the Kooks you won't regret it. I regreted not going with them first. Good luck!

We have a local customer in Cleveland that had a JPR head and Cam package on his LS1 T/A. The car makes about 410 RWHP with our standard headers and 2 1/2" y pipe. We use the smaller y pipe because floor and ground clearance is better, and unless you get into the 500 RWHP range, you will lose some low end and mid range torque as well. For extreme high HP applications, we do sell our headers with a 3" collector, which requires a custom fabbed on the car y pipe.

You can call us at 800-878-3635 if you have any questions-Strano Parts is running a GP on these now.

Thanks
Al Noe

Thanks Al, I just ordered a set of your headers and a catted y-pipe.
