Default noise comming from engine bay!! help!

ive had my car for about 2 months now. about a month ago i noticed a noise that seems to be comming from my engine bay, whenever im runnin it through the gears, on 2nd and 3rd gear. it gets to about 4000rpm and starts to make a clacking noise sounds like metal on metal almost. it doesent sound good at all and im wondering whether or not i should take it to the dealership, since i have my warranty still, because i dont want some kid out there runnin the **** out of my car trying to get it to make the noise. my car has around 52k miles on it. also, i was racing my friend who also has a 00 TA, and he could hear it when my engine was rev'in up real high. please help!!!! sorry for the long post
thanks guys in advanced!!!

Have you ever done a mis-shift? Does the clacking rate increase as the RPM's go up?
