Got a new Hood, Keep the FTRA or No?
I just got a Firehawk hood... see pic.

I have had the FTRA on the car for awhile now and was thinking about taking it off since I got the new hood. Will I loose any power at the track if I do this?

wow... Sweet car, man. That is very nice.
back to your post, I'd imagine that using the functional hood would net a colder and larger airflow (since you'd be losing the huge metal heat absorber and all...), but I don't have any experience or knowledge to back that up with. I bet somebody does. It'd be interesting to see some numbers on this...

HOT CAR!! I'm not sure about the question though since I have a Camaro and I don't have FTRA. But if the BG Ram Air system can work on the Firehawk hoods, my bet would be that the BGRA would work better that the FTRA since it's taking cooler air in through the nostrils like CamTom said.

Definitely keep the FTRA installed. None of the hoods will come close to the performance the FTRA gives you. Hoods are basically just for the looks. Don't expect power increases from them!

Very nice looking car man
I think the FTRA is more beneficial, however I ousted it when I got my WS6 hood. The FTRA left the filter black, with it sucking up nothing but air from the ground

as mentioned.. keep the FTRA... especially if you went from a stock hood to a firehawk hood but still have the stock upper airbox piece... the hood looks great but is about as functional as a tit on a bull...
