Default Locally Made X-Pipe vs. Mass-Market X-Pipe

I know it's going to be difficult to nail down any specifics regarding this topic since there are so many variables involved, but given the option, would you rather have a cheaper, locally made X-Pipe, or a more expensive X-Pipe fabricated by a nationwide exhaust company? Specifically, would the performance of the "professionally" made X-Pipe justify the cost when compared to the performance of the locally made X-Pipe? Assume that the locally made pipe is simply two 45* pipes cut and welded together to form an X.

Again, I know it's impossible to arrive at a definite answer, so I'm just looking for opinions and experiences.

Thanks,
Josh

its pipe............not rocket science..........there is no reason an X junction should cost any more than $40-60.

you have your choice of two types, a crossover X and a siamesed ><, but it seems to be personal preference as to which to use because no one has shown any distinct measured difference in power between the two.

Go with the local setup, will probably be much cheaper. Have them use mandrel bends if you're want, it'll basically be the same thing as a mass-market x-pipe.

An x-junction made locally is not easy, if doing a dual system, that will be the hardest part to do by far. Get one online for cheap. I know where to get one for $38 and they have all sizes and aluminized and stainless steel. PM me if you want to know.

I dunno, I guess my exhaust shop must be really good or something, cause they have no problems whatsoever doing an X-pipe.

Miami Muffler.
It used to be extremely loud with Flowtech Afterburner mufflers.
Now it's more subdued with the Magna's, but I get more compliments on the tone. At WOT it's wicked.

The Magnaflows Flows very, very well. I picked up 1mph when switching to it over the Flowtech afterburners.
There was a chart posted a while back, and Magnaflow was one of the highest rated flowing mufflers while being one of the quietest at idle.
