im no expert, i believe the 98-00 has a different plug in connection vs 01-02. maybe look into a saxon screen to replace your factory screen (other posters were talking about that). i dont know if the ls6 maf will fit with no issues.

doing a quick web search on a diff website the boys said the ls6 is an 85mm maf, you would need an adapter they called it a harness plug connector (i think ) possibly made by pace or casper???. last you'd need a tune. on my car i bought an SLP 85 mm made for my car. i had an SES light for a week until the computer learned the new info. mine came with the correct plugin / connector. goodluck! ps the first startup w new maf sensor my car was so grumpy i called slp to see if that was normal. they said yes, it will be fine. again it took a week.

There isn't really much point in changing it. Pop the stock screen and put in a Saxon screen if you can't help yourself.
The SLP maf is a GM 85mm with a resistor soldered into it to make it scale closer to stock without a tune. They are known for becoming tuning headaches later.
For what it's worth on my heads/cam/bolt on car a change from a stock screened MAF to a Saxon screen 85mm MAF (with retune) had no results at the track (DA corrected).
