Default Daily driver volume bullets/round mufflers?

I'm doing a catted 3' true duals setup, run out the back from tailpipes on my stock motor ls1 trans am.

The speed shop doing the work suggested 4 of the cheap summit bullet mufflers to tone it down. I don't want too loud, car is my DD and am not always looking for racecar mode. I want good tone, not excessive volume.

Should I go with 4 of the cheap $30 summit mufflers? 2 magnaflows? I think 2 dynomaxs would probably be too loud. Open to suggestions!

I ran dynomax bullets dumped. They were loud but sounded amazingly good.

Leaning towards moroso spiral flows, they seem to not be too loud. Anyone else chime in?

Magnaflow would be best bet.

True duals by design will be loud.

I have true duals also on a stock motor ls1, x pipe and no cats.

Honestly it's only loud on cold starts & WOT.

If you wanted to really play it safe from cops, neighbors try this.

Xpipe->aggressive loud mufflers->electric cutouts -> pipes over axle and into a SUPER quiet muffler.

true duals or almost stock quiet sound on demand

With cats and an axleback, Spiral Flows should be tame enough for DD purposes. I have been running them catless and dumped, which does not make for much noise reduction, as part of the muffler is straight-through.

Be sure to post sound clips if you go this route.

It's been a few years, but IIRC, a friend's duals with Spiral Flows were quite loud on his stock motor.

I decided to pull the trigger and ordered Spiral Flows and all the other parts for this custom catted exhaust.

Will take to the shop in the next couple of weeks, stay tuned for sound clips!

Got my full custom exhaust on! Here is the design. Spartan Performance here in GA did the full install.

3 inch exhaust, run out tailpipes, under axle.
Stock ls1, mods are SLP lid, 4.10s, lowered unknown springs, id guess 1.5in drop up front.

-Speed engineering 1 3/4 headers
-2 (fairly large) Magnaflow cats
-Summit racing 3" xpipe kit
-2 moroso spiral flow bullets
-3.5" out Corsa clones

It sounds AWESOME!! Not too loud for a dd, but startup noise is pretty beastly
No drone at all, not too loud for conversations in the cab but definitely louder than a cat back.
Has a nice rumble to it at idle, almost sounds cammed it's so deep.

Ground clearance is very tight. I scrape on huge speed bumps and the exhaust is very noticeable when you look under the car.

Will attach pics and sound clips later today, car feels smoother and sounds incredible. Sounds just like a muscle car should. Loud enough to be heard and not sneak around, but not too loud to be considered obnoxious by the general public (unless its a cold start &#128540 Never heard an ls1 in person like it.

Volume: 1-10
1 = stock quiet
5= typical cat back volume
7.5= SLP loudmouth
10= open headers/straight pipes
This setup=6.5-7 but zero drone/rasp
