It really depends on what is done to your car and what you do with the car itself. Tell us some more about your car and we will be able to help you out better.

Default Spark plugs

Well what happened is that I'm only getting about 10 or 11 mpg. I started to do some research and fount out it could be a air to fuel ratio, dirty maf, bad plug wires, bad or not a good brand plugs ect. Basically I want my car to give me more that 170 miles per tank. I decided to start with plugs and wires as they are due. My mods are SLP MAF, SLP air lid, k&n filter, SLP bellow, oil catch can, gutted cats, O2 simulators, SLP loud mouth exhaust. My car has never been tuned.

As far as spark plugs go I would use the NGK TR55 spark plugs along with a s good set of MSD or Taylor spark plug wires.

While you are doing your tune up I would also change out the fuel filter.

Although many here have had good results with the NGK plugs, my truck killed at least one NGK plug every week. Stock engine, the correct plugs.

I switched to original equipment ACDelco plugs problem gone and they've lasted many thousands of miles.

Would you recommend different plugs if you have an aftermarket cam, headers and an intake on an ls1?

I'll stay with ACDelco for plugs. I'm doing a motor with 230 AFR heads and a .634 lift cam and I'm using the ACDelco equivalent to what AFR recommends to use.

Paul you'll need to be colder than stock for the HP increase... You know that. Run a TR6 in a heads / cam car.

It's the AFR 230 heads. Their instructions say to start with A/C #41-985 spark plugs, that's what I have waiting for the heads. When I dyno, I'll try up a range then down a range.

They all say that. My 205's said the same. When adding HP & compression, it's a no brainer to go a step colder. Your tuner will tell you the same thing. Just don't want to see you spend money and do work twice, that's all
