Newer truck manifold on older 5.3???
So my truck has about 285K miles on it, motor has never been touched. I came across a complete intake setup on ebay off of a 2008 5.3. My truck is a 2000. I figured just for the newer, cleaner injectors and EGR block off (it is already tuned out) I may as well buy it, it was super cheap. I can clean it up real good and slap it on. Am I going to have any issues running this manifold? Are there any differences power wise? I know I need to keep my existing DBC TB. Is there anything anybody recommends doing while the manifold is off? My main goal is to just get newer, cleaner parts on quickly and rule out a manifold leak as the truck occasionally develops a stumbling issue, although I haven't felt that since giving it a good tuneup and having it tuned.

Plugs are ev6 and injectors are either 30 lbs or flex fuel 34-6 lbs @58 psi. Run a corvette fuel filter wix 33737 (I connected mine on the fuel rail and u should be good to go. Buy an eBay 90mm tb for 90 bucks

The 08 is a returnless fuel system while your intake is a return style. The 08 intake has 4 bolt throttle body so you will need an adapters like others have said. The map sensor on the 08 is towards the front of the intake while yours is towards the back so you will have to take map wire out of loom so it will reach. You will also have to fabricate your throttle cable bracket to work on new intake.

OK, might be more trouble than it's worth. I took some pics of my current setup last night but never got to pics of the new setup. But I did glance at the end of the new manifold on my way out this morning because I had to walk right by it and it was sticking out of the box. The manifold is a 3 bolt TB. I know that a DBW TB came with it, but from the looks of it I think it I don't think it had been installed on a manifold for a long time.
Oh, I do recall that there are two fuel lines on the new setup with temporary caps on them. I need pics.

Sorry for what? If the whole setup is off of a 2000-2002 then that would be good news because my truck is a 2000. If the only difference is the TB that would be great, I have no interest in it any way. And obviously I have about 3% faith in the description I was given. I could give 2 ***** about what they said it was. I am on here to figure it out for real.

Good deal then. Did you say it came with injectors too? I've seen the stainless rails on the flex fuel motors. They'll fit manifold and rail but might have a different plug or programming. If you're old injectors still work, might keep them.
Also clean that rail out REALLY well. Never know what might have got in there.

You'd see some gains in performance if you upgraded to the later "TBSS" type manifold, used on most V8 truck engines after around 2006.
The fuel system is returnless so that would need to be re-worked.
Most people doing this mod have the drive by wire three bolt throttle body and the later larger throttle bodies with four bolts use a different signal. BUT as you have a cable throttle body, you should be able to find a larger TB that fits.

it did come with injectors. That was actually one of the main reasons I wanted to swap, mine are so old who knows how well they are working. can they really be 100% after 300,000 miles.
I know about the TBSS manifold, I wish thats what I had here but no such luck.
I will have to double check on the injectors, but at this point I am assuming they are the same.
So are all 3 bolt truck manifolds the same (tbss exlcuded) from the first five years or so?

3 bolt is 3 bolt, all the same pattern.
Flex fuel injectors wont have the plastic tips.
Pretty much every truck injector I've had ran the EV6 plug. Almost certain your new ones will be too. But I recall some very early truck injectors were sort of EV1 style.
