Default Daily driving 99 z28 possibilities

Hey guys I'm looking for some good advice for upgrades to my car. I have an automatic 99 z28 and so far all I have is a flo pro exhaust which the car came with and an SLP air lid with the ram air mod. However, people are convinced my engine is "hot" thinking it was tuned before I got it. I'm not sure and can't find a way to get a hold of the previous owner so oh well. So anyways I was wondering if it is possible to have a 10-12 second car that is pretty good/descent on gas. And if so will that only be possible with major engine upgrades such as heads/cams etc? What is the fastest my car can be with only bolt ons? (headers, dyno tune, full exhaust x pipe true dual, msd intake manifold) If turbo is considered a bolt on that would be the absolute last thing I get. But anyways yeah let me know guys!

your car should easily be low 12's with full bolt ons and a stall. with a little thought full bolt on stalled cars have touched 11's frequently

But with a stall driving around town would I have to rev it up to that particular rpm everytime I'm at a stop?? Can I reach 11s or 12s without the stall but with full bolt ons?

no i have a 3200 stall and it starts to move just off idle. if you get a "good" stall you really wont even notice it until you stomp on the smile pedal.....then you will .if you want the easiest route to 11's stall, nitrous, and good tires.

11s with a daily driver is fairly easy. I've run a best of 11.80 at 117 mph with bolt-ons, mild heads/cam setup, 3200 stall converter, and drag radials. Car made 403 rwhp and it still gets the same gas mileage as it did stock. Driving to work and back its right at 21 mpg.

exactly a small GOOD stall will not be ahrd to drive at all. A 3200 would easily put you at low 12s with full bolt ons with the stars aligned and minor weight reduction you could touch 11s. A 3600 stall with the same mods and you will most likely hit 11's if you can hook

Milled 243 heads and the cam is a Comp 228/230 .571/.573 on 112 LSA. If I could do it over I would not use a Comp cam, the damn thing whines. Should have spent an extra $100 and had Cam Motion grind me a cam.

Does it sounds like a twin screw supercharger?

Big difference in a 10 and 12 second car...There's a ton of daily 11 second LS Fbodies out there. Being in Jersey I learned my lesson as far as having one of these cars as a DD. In the Spring and summer months driving my old heads cam setup almost everyday wasn't bad at all.

Yeah sounds like a blower. Had another local buddy put a Comp cam in his G8 GT and it whined too. Comp should be ashamed of themselves for putting out such a poor quality product. If I had the money I'd rip their junk out and put in a cam from another company, won't be buying anything with their name on it anymore.
