Default GM Corvette Alternator/Powersteering Bracket Problem...

I have GM alternator/powersteering bracket part#12555220 and can not get an aftermarket alt. to fit. The holley alt and delco part#8292N are a 1/2 to narrow on bolt holes 5 1/2" across. The bracket is 6" across center to center. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to get aftermarket alternator to fit bracket i have or another GM bracket to fit holley/delco alt. thanks...

Default

The GM bracket uses a Corvette alternator, which has the 6" bolt hole spacing.
The Holley bracket, although it looks about the same, is designed to use a truck or F-body alternator. These have narrower bolt hole spacing. This because the truck and F-body alts are much more readily available than the Corvette one.
