oil pan/covers, dab of sealer required?
Just realized I bolted everything together, and never did put the dab of sealer in the corners where the oil pan and covers meet....
There is a piece of gasket there, the little crosshatched piece, so it seems that the gasket would seal anyway.
Is this thing going to leak? Do I need to take the pan off again and put some sealer on there? Has anybody gotten by without it?
The engine is still on the stand so it would be easy to do it now, before the engine goes into the car....

I would fix it now... much easier with the engine out of the car.
Apply RTV to lower edge
Note.. the gasket is near the same color in the picture.. just apply RTV to the edge that touches the pan.
