Default "better" crank pulley bolt ...

will this bolt make any difference/work out better than a $3.00 gm bolt? ... for a powerbond 25% underdrive?

For that price why wouldnt you just buy an ARP one?

just looking up pulley bolts on ebay this was all i could find car/ls1 specific. yet since then (earlier today) i have found what seems to be the better solution which is just to buy the crank & alt. pulley, belts & bolt from ws6store together.

No that bolt is too long and will bottom out in the crank. Call a vendor and get the right length arp bolt and be done.

If you get an ARP bolt and pin the crank you should never have any worries.

What exactly is wrong with a stock bolt you think it needs upgraded? The only negative is that it's torque to yield and needs replaced each time but for the price of the ARP you can buy a **** ton of GM bolts.

The crank in my car had an overdrive blower pulley spin on it so that the crank pulley easily slides on and off with no tools but 2 pins and a stock bolt are holding it on there just fine.

I have one, haven't used it yet. It's supposed to fit gen 3 LS1, why do you think it's too long?
The difference from the more $$ arp bolt, from what I could tell from pics, is that the head is smaller but it's 12 pt., and the washer is separate.

because it says in the vehicle description that it does not fit 97-2002 LS1. Looks like it is for Gen IV motors.

My invoice says part #MAHW'14010, "LS1 Gen III V8 ARP USA LS 97+ (exc LS7)". I didn't get mine off ebay, but I see the ebay listing says it's 8" long, when it's actually 5" long.
