This may be in the wrong section again maybe i think possibly, Im looking for a alternator that is smaller around than a 2005 5.3 truck alternator that will fit a cbm low mount drivers side bracket. it is for a 1933 ford and i need all the room I can get, any help would be appreciated. thanks

The easiest thing to do is go to a local alternator/starter rebuild shop and tell them what you want/need. They can usually fix you really easy. The one near me pulled 10 alternators out and let me measure them all. On top of that, I got it for a great price.

Try a 2000 Camaro alternator. It has the same bolt pattern as the truck but sits in closer to the engine. If you need a price on one, shoot me over a PM. We have them in stock both stock amps and a high amp version.

I too have a 2005 5.3 engine but from a tahoe with the small amperage alternator. Does the camaro alternator fit closer than either sized one from 05?

Yes the Camaro alternator will still be smaller. See attached pictures to get a reference of how it sits with the bracket.
