I would definitely recommend going ahead and doing it. It would be the ideal time as everything will be apart giving much easier access to the motor mounts

It'll add 5 hours to your header swap or it'll take you 24 hours later to get to them. Plus the added rigidity will help prevent the headers from banging into heat shields, k member, etc

This is the one reason why I'm putting off getting long tubes.. Sounds like a big headache.

Personally, I would say less of a PITA than dropping the oil pan, but more of a PITA than a cam swap.

Is it easier when using a lift?

I don't think doing poly motor mounts with a header install is really a big pain at all. It may add another 2-3 hours to the install time with the headers but you won't ever have a better time to do it. Do it once and just get it done with.

It is way easier doing anything on a lift so that will save you some time and make it easier.

Probably. I did it on my garage floor with the car about as high as I could get it.

No, I meant the entire header + polyMM project. Less of a PITA than the oil pan, but worse than a cam swap.

Do it. Worth the investment and might as well while your in there doing the header swap. That's when I did mine.

Find some used clam shells and do the poly mod before ripping everything apart. Saves time. That's what I did. With a lift, screw jack, and pneumatic tools it only added about 30 min to my header install.

Do not skip the mounts.. you will regret it when your exhaust starts slapping under your car.. I didn't think they were very hard at all.. just take your time and do it right..

IMO, with the exhaust manifolds on, it's hard !
With the exhaust out of the way it'll be a lot easier; do it !

Exactly! If you don't do them and your exhaust starts slapping under your car, it will be a ton more work to do them later.. they are wide open and easy to access with headers off..don't talk yourself out of it or let anyone scare you from doing it.. it's really way easier than most made it out to be
