Spark Plug wires and 1 7/8 Headers

Spark Plug wires and 1 7/8 Headers I just finished my engine swap and it runs great but 2 of the passenger side spark plug boots touch the header. The only part that touches is the end that flares out. Can I trim that flared piece on stock plug wires? I'm going to try to pull it away with a zip tie next weekend to see what else can be done.
I've searched other threads but don't want to buy MSD wires.
