Default What muffler to get? Quiet, Durable, High-Flow, Single Outlet

I am thinking about replacing my exhaust and putting in a single 3" in/out muffler. I would like it to be as quiet as possible, high-flowing, but not some fiberglass packed crap that will wear out fast. Any recommendations?

Really? They look more like a race-application type of muffler.

The turbos will quiet the engine. What bullet muffler are you using? The only stainless steel bullets I know about are the magnapacks but they have a 2.25" core.

Hooker, Magnaflow, and Ultraflo are the only straight through mufflers I know of. Take your pick. In general the bigger muffler the quieter it will be.

Here is video of my car. Exhaust details in sig.

There are some other clips at ls1sounds.com under dynomax.

Here is a clip of a camaro with hotcam, hooker lt, ory, and magnaflow muffler off the ypipe dumped under the car.

http://www.ls1sounds.com/magnaflow/m...ts_burnout.ram

This one sounds amazing, way deeper than my car. I think the long tube headers with 3" ypipe has more to do with it than the magnaflow muffler. This clip is from ls1sounds under Magnaflow.

Anyways, overall I like my exhaust set up except for the hollow raspy tone from 2-3k rpms. Its tolerable because the exhaust is pretty quiet. It gets louder as the rpms go up but when cruising around its not much louder than stock. Internally the ultraflo looks like the bullet mufflers. It probably flows just as well without all the noise. My favorite thing about the catback is that its quiet where you want it and loud where you want it.

My dream set up would be long tube headers with a pair of 3" bullets in the ory with 4" flowmaster collector going through 4" 1oftl catback with 4" ultraflo muffler. It would probably sound nice and deep without much rasp while flowin as well as true duals.

It looks like youre gonna use the exhausting pipes from your flowmaster cb. Id pick a muffler that matches up best with the existing hardware. Checkout the magnaflow and dynomax websites. They list the dimensions of their different mufflers.

So what I have gotten from this is that Borla is about the quietest for my application?

My vote goes for the Max Flow as well. I had one on my car, was very quiet at idle and cruise. Had a nice bark at WOT. I only got rid of it because I got tired of the V6 exhuast look.

To keep things simple Id get muffler that will work with existing tubing of the flowmaster catback. It looks like a muffler with offset in and offset out should work. The flowmaster tail pipe is 3"?
