Quietest Exhaust?
Other then stock, what is the quietest exhaust all around. I'll be putting a catted Y on to keep it legal and I want to have the quietest exhaust possable but still have a nice setup. I plan on running a QTEC before the cats so when I want to, I can run pretty much open headers and let it rip, but when im just cruising, want to have a conversation or listen to the radio, I can close them up and have it quiet.

GMMG. The tone resembles that of a classic muscle car, It is what most people will recomend here. The only downfall is that it costs a buttload of money. http://www.gmmginc.net

I would say Flowmaster. Mine is very quiet even with LT's. Also look at Magnaflow.

Hey, but it sounds the best out of any catback out there. Plus you get very minimal drone, and it is alot quiter with the cats (which he wants to do) and not many people run cats with it.

why not leave a stock catback on it?! nothing is as quiet as that...and I mean you will have a qtec so you can just open it and tear it up whenever you want.
I dont see how you could go wrong, its cheap and easy

yeah, but I want a nice catback that is made with nicer materials. plus its so damn heavy comparatively.
I was thinking magnaflow too. Those have had quiet exhaust back when I built mustangs, figured the same would go for LS1s.

magnaflow or flowmaster probly, magnaflow flows better, catted you wont have any problem, people say it sounds almost stock with longtubes at idle, but it roars at WOT.

i just installed Bassani's new prototype dual exhaust on my 00 formula. (pics soon)testing for VHP and Bassani. bolts straight to the existing factory cats. still uses one muffler. dual off the cats into an X-PIPE just about where the y-pipe met. then two pipes into the muffler and two pipes out. i thought it'd be loud. but it rivals magaflow for quietness. real deep throaty sounds. but not loud at all. plus it's duals.

SLP DD is the quietest cat-back other than stock. If you're keeping cats in place, you would most likely be satisfied with B&B TriFlo, Corsa, SLP 2otl, Magnaflow, Borla, and Hooker as far as decibel levels are concerned. Click on my sig picture to hear sound clips of them all.
