Destroyed my Header

Destroyed my Header
I blew a fat hole in my Pacesetter Coated Passenger side longtube.
It's where the back EGR post "used" to be. I had the EGR blocked off, I guess the turbo made a little too much pressure for the weld
I thought I lost a pushrod or something... It sounded so nasty, I got out and I could see the spark when I popped the hood. I thought my plug wire came loose... Upon further inspection, I could see that I blew a quarter sized hole out of the header. With an STS system being a sealed system, I loose a lot of exhaust pressure, or the ability to spool the turbo. I guess it's time for a set of QTP stainless WITHOUT emissions

Uh, can't you get Pacesetters in Race (non-emissoins) trim? Depending on how much money you have, I'd try race Pacesetters before I dropped $800+ for the QTPs.
Good luck.
Good luck.

1. Stainless will hold heat a little better then the coated headers, which is necessary for the spooling of the turbo.
2. Stainless won't rust.
3. If I'm going to take the time to put headers on again, I'm going to do it right. <- period

That's cool. I think mine was welded shut about 6 months ago, and it is still good as new.....Good luck wither way.
Why are you going with QTP over Kook's??

QTP's and Kooks are pretty much the same headers, just a different name on the plate. Go with whatever is cheaper. I have a set of Kooks in my garage, and they're freakin awesome. Gettin installed next week

I ordered some pacesetter race Ltubes. I didn't order the stainless because I might be running a new setup shortly down the road...
I took a 3.5 cage that houses hdrives and floppies out of an old computer and cut a large strip out of it. I wrapped that around the hole and put a metal clamp around it. It seems like it sealed it pretty well. I did that just to get it across town... Now it's under a car cover
