How do I bypass the power steering pump?

How do I bypass the power steering pump?
I was just going to get a shorter belt, but after looking at the pulley configuration, I don't see how to do it without bypassing the alternator too.
Can anyone who has done this please explain what I need and how it was done?
An explanation of the new belt route would also be helpful.

EDIT: 52 inch belt for those with the ASP pulley. If you have a stock pulley it's a couple inches longer.

I don't have an ASP pulley. Starting at the top of the tensioner on the passenger side and using over as the rib side, and under as the smooth side, the belt goes under the water pump, over the power steering pump, under the idler pulley, over the alternator, over the crank, and back to the tensioner. If I just don't go over the power steering pump, how do I get around the idler pulley?
