Default 6.0 truck intake more power than ls6

i was looking through my old chevy hiperformance magazines and i came across an intake flog article and the 6.0 truck intake made more power than the ls1, ls6, and only made 3 hp less than the lsx. but they also noted that the intake was about 4 inches taller than the stock ls1 so my only question is has anyone tried to make it fit with anything short of a cowl hood.

It won't fit under a stock hood, and if I am not mistaken, it only makes more torque than an LS6 intake. I do know that it wouldn't be worth the trouble. And it is ugly too.

It is only somewhat comparable at or below 6K I think. After that it becomes very innefficient if I remember correctly. The LS1, LS6, and LSX all flow much better at the higher RPM ranges.

i think that the truck manifold would have more lower rpm power becuase trucks are used for towing.

The question is, how would you get it up under the cowling? I believe if you'll open your hood you'll see what I mean. I'm assuming you're talking about putting it on an F-Bod.

I read those articles and if I recall, the truck was a tad
better than the LS6 on the stock motor but as they
went further into cam, headers, etc. it got left behind
pretty quick. I think it's made for low RPM resonance
/ velocity and torque, not for flow.
