loss with cutout?

loss with cutout? I was just wondering how much power would be lost when cruising around with a capped cutout. We worry so much about mandrel bends and such but I would think the closed cutout would cause a lot of turbulence. Right? Any opinions on this? I rarely open the cutout and was wondering if maybe it will cause more harm than good.
