who still has their AC system?
i know this is one of those "every little bit counts" modifications, but im not sure if i want to get rid of mine or not.
just asking who !AC and who did not touch it (and uses it). i clipped the belt a while ago when the weather was getting cold (probably did nothing but who knows- more parasitic drag= less hp). now i may just completly remove it for the weight savings off of the front of the vehicle, not to mention more flow to the rad.
opinions please. i honestly only would probably use it MAYBE 5 times this whole summer- t tops do the trick unless it is over like 90* out, which would be a bad time to drive the car anyway (kr, and transmission temps).
this is completly a street car also, daily driver/ weekend racer (every weekend) when the weather is nice.

I did all of the above and it's great to see the engine and be without the weight. Too bad I'm moving to Arizona and will have to put the AC back on.

I'd leave it in.
If the time ever comes to sell it, I wouldn't be surprised if you lose potential buyers as soon as they see you removed/butchered the A/C system. Personally, I wouldn't buy a car without A/C.
And if you do decide to keep it forever, you may regret your decision when you get older.......I do. I took the A/C out of my '78 Z28 when I was 18 (almost 20 years ago). I didn't have the car for more than 6 months when the A/C went out. Instead of getting it fixed, I decided remove it for a lot of the same reasons as above. And I've regretted it since I was about 25. At least I had enough sense to keep all the components and brackets all these years. When I get around to restoring my '78 Z finally, the A/C WILL be in.
Just my opinion though.

Sometimes I have to go work to Palm Springs in the middle of summer or places with temperatures above 110, screw that, AC is staying on.
I have been to SD several times though, and it does seem to be cooler over there.
