Default I have a question about emissions, and PCM tuning.

Hey guys i just passed my emissions with an almost completely stock 01SS, i will be adding LTs and TDs within a month or so and i am going to eliminate cats, and the AIR. Now from what i understand i can get the AIR codes and MIL codes eliminated from the PCM via a tune form Speed Inc.

I mainly just wanted to know if that when emissions time comes again in '07 if i will have any problems passing because they can "see" that the codes have been eliminated, even if the SES light is not on, and PCM is not "throwing" any codes.
"NOTE" I Know for sure that they will not look for cats, nor will they hook up a sniffer. all they do is hook up the OBDII and if everything checks out you walk away with passed emissions.

Thanks

So far it seems that the OBDII checks are pretty unsophisticated,
and if you turn off the tests the right way you will pass. They do
not check for programming variances from stock (probably this
will remain unmanageable as manufacturers always change
stuff, sometimes even mid-model-year). Just make sure your
tuner knows what he's doing. Turning the tests off will ring the
bell. Leaving them on but turning the error reporting off, will be
clean.

There's a chance that the headers will bring on some actual
emissions-code problems especially pertaining to front O2 sensors
(presumably rears will be gone) being too cool. When you get the
headers installed, do not buy extensions, buy Corvette rears and
use those for the front O2s. These at least stand a chance of
keeping lit (though Chi-town winters may still be challenging for
them at idle and -30, 30MPH off the lake).
