Porting stock 2001 Exhaust manifolds
I have seen various posts debating the merits of doing this. Has anyone got some pictures of a ported iron manifold to look at? This is a perfect next winter project for me but I was hoping to see an example or at least have someone indicate what is useful to do.
Thanks
Thanks

i talked with ??? and he said after 15 dyno pulls, they saw an average of 8hp on a stock 5.7L
not bad for 100 bucks if you dont wanna buy headers.

I read that in another post and that is what gave me the idea. But, I was thinking of doing it myself, I was hoping someone had pictures of what has to be done.

I bought an extra set & did it. Just for yucks basically.
I ported to the soot-circle (though the heads ports
are smaller). The casting is pretty thin-walled in spots
esp. the long side of the turn. But the stock manifolds
do project an edge into the port up top. I just got a
big round carbide burr from Ace and went at it with the
die grinder until it looked nice and smooth-for-flow. I
did not hog through the wall but you want to watch
that.
I can't say about any gains as my track consistency is
poor.
