TSP ORY - obbservations & questions
I got my TSP ORY (shipped right quick) yesterday
and opened it up today to look. I had seen comments
about the Y merge section being choked down, here.
Wanted to check that out.
I see that the inserted stub does project into the
merge some. Have any of you been dressing that back
to clean up the flow? I'm fixing to, I have a long-snout
electric die grinder that I can get up in there with.
Looks like I can use the backside of a ball stone to get
the edge nice and smooth.
I found one pinhole in the circle weld. It's through to the
inside. I figured on having at least some of the pieces
welded up (rather than using the muffler clamps provided)
so I figure I'll just get this spotted too. But I would have
hoped for cleaner. Have most people been welding up
the segments or just using the clamps? Clamps are just
another 1/4" of lost clearance and another pound of
weight, I figure.

Band clamp it. You can use o2 safe RTV on the OUTSIDE edges of the band and make sure you get no leaks whatsoever. It downt weigh much, but youll be glad you did the next time you have to drop your tranny, or even adjust your Y if it bangs slightly. If its welded, you odnt have the ability to nudge it over a fraction of a degree one way or the other, as it will result in moving inches at the tailpipes.

Here are pics of what I'm talking about (below). I wonder
whether anyone has gone to the trouble of porting out
these sharps / steps on this particular Y?
Looks like my texts on the pics are displaying like
I will try and improve that (later).
