Which brand electric cutout?
Reading through the archives, I found a lot of explanations of what a cutout is, where to put it, etc. but I didn't find much commentary of which one to go with. Asking around, it seems to me that the MCord is the way to go since it is cheaper than the QTEC and the QT seems to break quite often. My exhaust is still 100% bone stock as it came from the factory. I'm putting an ORY pipe on which mates to stock manifolds and a cutout. So which electric cutout do you recommend and why? Would you recommend buying the actual cutout (small y-pipe) from whomever I buy the electric part?
Just looking for some feedback. Please give your reasons for your opinion. Thanks.

Qtec seems to be more popular, but you do read an awful lot about little problems with them. I plan to get dual cutouts for my duals in the future and if I can afford electric, I think I'd go with mcord based on where they stand right now. Which, of course, is based soley on what I have read and I havn't looked into it in detail.

DMH performance is the best IMO. I know alot of people that run them, and they have no problems with them. Plus there is a 4 year warrantly on them just in case. Thats what I just ordered.

i put a qtec on mine when my exhaust was all stock. it was the best sounding and cheapest exhaust i could have bought. and i loved that it got dead quiet with the flip of a switch. on the dyno i picked up 5rwhp/6rwtq. however mine broke just after 1 year--the back of the electric motor came out. but you can have them replaced for $30. if i had to do it over again, i would go with someone other than qtec. i'm not knocking the product, but it's just my .02

Did you bring your car up to Birmingham, AL with JLaw to have Gomer tune it? If so, I think I remember you having problems with your cutout. It wouldn't open for some reason.

I like my QTEC, but i'd rather have a smaller switch. I mounted mine on the left side of my ashtray, and it won't go down flush into the space like it's supposed to. It's hitting the shifter cable and making that side all cocked up.

I'm not worried about the switch. It's all 12v electronics. I can swap switches all day long. I'm worried about the quality of the plate, butterfly and motor. From what I'm hearing, only the lucky ones don't have their QTEC fall apart on them. I have yet to hear any complaints about MCord, they're cheaper and look a helluva lot better built.

The DMH is nice. It's just as good as the MCord in every way except price. However, the DMH does have a 4 year warranty as opposed to the MCord's 1 year. Are you running one? Do you know others running DMH?
