Default Possible coil pack problem

I have developed a miss. Breaks up at 7,000+ rpms. It is sparatic but getting worse.

1. Battery OK
2. Spark plug wires OK
3. Valve train OK
4. Leakdown OK
5. Plugs OK (changed many times)

I am assuming I have a bad coil pack. I still have my original 1999 stock coil packs.

What do you think? My next move is swapping out my coils packs for the 2004 truck coil packs. Do these truck coil packs have an advantage? Hotter spark?

TIA

Tom, best to shot Harlan an email on this...

The truck coils are a little hotter from what I've read.

Thanks John. I think I found my problem. Just for ***** and giggles I took the intake off and started inspecting the wiring harnesss back there. I found that the plug on the cam position sensor had a severed wire. It was being held together by 1 strand of wire. All the other wires were severed. You can tell by the color that it was like this for some time. I have been fighting an intermittant miss for year. Looks like this was the problem.
