Default New HEADER setup.

ok the last header thread that i posted turned into some drama
sorry bout that guys im just tryin to get my best bag for the buck
and i figured yall were the people to turn to
so thanks for all the previous help
but im gonnan do it one more time with some diff options

goin on a mildly modded '02 SS that is soon to be cammed(hopefully)
wantin to do some good long tube headers and an off-road y pipe
here are my choices besides Kooks and QTP cuz im havin a hard time findin a good deal(let me know if you know where i can find one)

i didnt really wanna spend but about $800 or $900 on a good setup(headers, offroad y-pipe,installation accessories)
deff not more than $1000 or so

i just want a good quality header setup with a good y-pipe and nice fit with no trouble or leaks
(the headers and y -pipe dont even havta match just as long as they will bolt together)

please vote in the poll above
thanks

Ground clearance will be affected with the SLP headers - trust me I have them on my car right now, of the choices you have on your pole I would have to go with the hookers.

You just can't beat $375 for coated pacesetters. I recommend pacesetters unless you can afford Kooks/QTP, basically. I wish good pacesetters could have been had for $375 when I did my exhaust.

Why is it that everybody seems to ALWAYS forget about FLP's? They are a quality header that comes with some nice goodies (interchangeable cats/straight pipe)

LTs are great and defiantely best free flowing but for bang for buck I went with Mac headers and Y pipe because they flow awesome and are coated and cost much less then some of the LTs. Also, no clearance issues.

FLP's arent a TRUE long tube header, the driver side header is practically a mid length header...You just need to make sure you do not have any clearance issues or else if you drop your car you will really drag. I have never drug my header and I have a prokit on the car...

still saying coated pacesetters for 375 and i would not spend 1 extra dollar on another header if i had it to spend ... that money would buy more mods

i cant speak for the y pipe cuz i have true duals but there is no way the header will leak if installed right ... the flange is very thick

pacesetter is by a few hundred dollars the best bang for the buck header out of those. I have a set of their long tubes sitting in my room, and they look just like my friends hookers. Its really hard to tell any difference. And i only paid like $275 for them brand new. I put the extra money towards something else.

well since i cant find a good deal on the QTP or Kooks, then i have narrowed it down to Pace Setters and Hookers...

probably go with the Hookers sinc ei know people who have them and have had good luck with them

my last question is........should i get the matchin Hooker y-pipe(offroad of course) or should i go with another brand??????

thanks
