Default looking for video of borla xr1 or bullet dumped after ypipe

I can't make up my mind which muffler i want. I already have flp headers & noncatted ypipe. I'm going to use a borla xr1 or a bullet and dump it before the axle. If you have any pics or a video clip with this setup post a link or email it to me. oldschoolscotty@hotmail.com

-Thanks Scott

I don't think I've seen anyone run the Borla dumped off of a y. I can tell you this, it'll definitely sound better than using a bullet.

I have QTP's, Y pipe with NO cats, and a Borla Adjustable. When I bought the car it had the wide open adjustable plate installed and all the sound came out of the right side exhaust pipe, and it was loud and raspy. I tried all the plates and ended up putting in the blocking plate so all the exhaust has to run through the muffler, and now it rocks. It is still loud, but not annoying loud and no more raspy sound. I do get some drone, but that is to be expected from no cats and an exhaust that is this free flowing.

Here are just a few vids i found with a bullet dumped before the axle. They all sound good but i wonder how the borla xr1 would sound.

I have that setup now, well, something similar to it. I have a Moroso Spiralflow, fairly similar to the Borla I guess, and it sounds AWESOME. Unfortunately I don't have any sound clips, but I've converted a few of my Mustang buddies. With LT's/ORY it can rattle the gutters on my garage. Sounds deep, like a big block, and almost sounds like my car's cammin'.

What size moroso spiralflow are you using?

3", not sure on the length. I just clamped it on to the y-pipe (Pacesetter ORY), and ran a 3" turndown off of it.

This dood did the Y-pipe to single xr-1. He says it sounds great and he gets a lot of compliments at road courses (it is an LT1 & 3.5" out the back).

He could probably hook you up w/ more details if you email him.
I'll have the 3" version of this (with the round xr-1) on my SS soon.

Dynomax makes a 3" ipipe if you want to do an 1otl style catback. Thats what I did. I used the biggest 3" ultraflo muffler. Its pretty quiet below 2k and roars at wot. It still has some annoyn rasp.

btw there is a soundclip at ls1sounds of camaro with hooker lt's, ory with a magnaflow muffler dumped under the car. Sounds awesome but ground clearance looks a lil iffy.

thats not a bad idea, Ive never thought of it though, could run like half the I pipe into the borla and just dump it, i dunno how the interior noise would be though since its dumped.
