Like my blockoff plates? lol
Today I was installing my LS6 manifold, and I said to myself, "self, you need to get rid of this AIR and EGR junk, it is only taking up space and making too much noise (the AIR did, anyway)." Not to mention the manifold had no provision for the EGR tube anyhow.
So I tore it all off and buttoned it up appropriately, and used my software to get rid of any potential SES lights and unreadiness codes. But as far as block off plates go, there was no way I was going to pay $15 or whatever for some pretty ones when I can take 2 seconds and make a few out of steel scraps...
Then I decided they needed to be dressed up a little, so I painted !EGR and !AIR on them.
I think it's funny, but then again I have a special sense of humor
Here it is in action:
And a shot of the emissions crap free engine bay:
Now of course I know my blockoff plates are ghetto...but I am getting non-emissions legal headers, so there will not be a need for the plates at all soon.
