Default Are magnaflow cats any good?

I think I'm going to have my Y pipe custom made. I am going with Kooks and the price of Kooks and QTP Y pipes are a little hig, not too mention aren't stainless. So I'm thinking of having my Y pipe custom made. I had custom mandrel bent tubing done on my 383 IROC many years ago (3" tru duals) so I think I cant get it done at a reasonable price (and tru fit).

I saw these cats on ebay:

I'm thinking of getting two of them. Pretty good price and free shipping.

Any experience with them?

Magnaflow/Carsound cats kick ***. I've got them on my truck, and had them on most of my cars. Flow is much better than most pieces. I believe installuniversity did a flow comparison years ago.

We use the same in 2.5" version on Nissans at work, go thru about 150 a year and probably 2-3 out of the bunch may be faulty. Very good cat and small size.

There very cheap and work so why not go for em.

yup, I just bought two . My problem with cats is that I usually slam them on a speed bump or driveway, long before they die due to mileage, so if I can get them cheap, I will. I know some cats are more susceptible to bangs than others, not sure which there are.
