I put new smooth valve covers on tonight, questions!!??
I had already done the PCV mod when I did my heads and cam install....but I finally bolted my new smooth valve covers on, and what do i do with the tube running from the throttle body to the front of the passenger side valve cover? Do I just block it off, or do I need a breather? I would think with the PCV mod that I would not need a breather....

ok, now I'm a bit concerned...nothing happened, but I helped with a heads and cam install on a 02 Z06. When we did this, we also upgraded him to the new LS2 Throttle body and FAST 90. doing this upgrade to the new TB, eliminated the exact same hose on his car and when he took it in for a tune at Livernois they wound up putting a breather on the valve cover for him.

Does he still have a pcv system? If he changed over to the LS6 style PCV then this would be correct.
If he deleted the PCV then a breather on the valve cover would be needed. But the fresh air hose can be capped.

So if I'm reading your post right, you're agreeing with oange ss when he says I need to get air into the motor for the PCV system.
This is going to sound bad, but is the air sucking into the valve cover there, or is some of the pressure from the motor coming out there and then back into the TB? Coming out from the valve covers doesn't make a whole lot of sense because then your introducing un-measured air into the throttle body.

Yeah man I am agreeing with him.
You are creating a vacuum at idle and part throttle thru your PCV line.
The port on the valve cover is pulling fresh air from the port on the TB.
Putting a small breather on the valve cover port, will have the same effect as having it hooked up to the TB.

sweet, will do. Hopefully I can find a breather to fit where my cap currently is and not have to drill another hole.
They look great though, I'll get some pics up soon.
