SLP y-pipe, Bassani. Don't expect any gains though. It's just an appearance mod.

i know SLP makes a y-pipe that fits 00-02 fbodys. i don't know why it doesn't work with earlier model stock manifolds

What he said. dont waste your money save for LT's on a y pipe to fit the LT's.

im not looking for gains....my factory ypipe is rusted inside and causing a vibration through the whole car so im just looking for a replacement basically....the flattened factory peice doesnt look like it helps anything though so id rather get an aftermarket....plus money is a little tight or id opt for some headers to got along with this.

so where can i get the bassani one? i called slp and they said it would not work on my 99 because the 98-99 y-pipes were shorter and to use this one id have to cut the pipe and weld it together again.

No matter what y-pipe you get it will have to be welded. The 98's and 99's have there stock y-pipe welded on the passenger side, unlike the bolt on style of the 00-02's. I have the SLP y-pipe on my 98 and know many other people that also have them on 98's and 99's. The SLP y-pipe will work on your car just as well as any other y.

I know Mac makes one for stock manifolds. I had one on my 99 and it was a direct bolt on. I really liked it for the price and the car seemed to perk up with the cats off. Check around and you can probably find a decent used one.

You must have missed both my posts. The SLP one works, I have it on my 98 which is the same as yours. Bassani also makes one. Those are two you can use right there.

using an ORY will give you minimal gains, just because you are removing the cats.

IMO, It's a waste of money to change the y-pipe if you plan to go with headers in the future.
