Question SLP Headers with Loudmouth?

i have heard that SLP's complete header package is great however combined with the loudmouth system can be too loud. is this true or is there really such a thing as being too loud!

if your running a non catted y pipe it will be VERY loud and raspy, one thing you can do tho is replace the resonator with a bullet style muffler

I have the slp lt with cats and loudmouth and its not that bad at all. With just a lid a maf and cat back i ran a 13.37. I added the lt ,slp cold air , hood ,3.42 and ran a 12.73. So i lost 6ths. Then i added the Ls6 manifold ported slp tb tune and 4000 stall and ran a 12.2 . Everone says the hate them but i love them they do hang a little low but i hit them everyonce and a while and i live in Pa. If i could do it all over again i would still buy the slp

With SLP LTs and a catted y-pipe the LM should be fine. I don't think I could handle that setup with an ORY for daily driving though.

if you are worried about how loud it will be just get the loudmouth 2 which is modular and comes with the bullet instead of the resonator. that is what i did and now i just ordered the resonator because i want it louder. it should be good though because if i want to quiet it down i can switch out the mufflers in less than 30 minutes.

id buy the slp's if they were ridiculously expensive. **** 360 for cats?!?!?! then another 120 for the install kit!!! other than that i love the design. i know a buddy of mine had the lm1 and hookers and he had to swap it out because the noise was almost unbearable when u get on it above 2000 rpm. throw some cats in there im sure it woul sound mean as hell!

their cats are really good though... slp's are just as expensive as qtps/kooks except slp comes with a ypipe. so i think slp's are a better buy imo

I have pacesetters with TSP's catted Y and the LM and it sounds great. My buddy has the SLP LT's with the LM and it is noticably louder than mine is. Still sounds good though. Those headers hang low though. And the cats suck. Another guy I know is on his 3rd random tech cat. SLP wouldnt honour the warranty either since one cat had a scuff on it from rubbing on a speedbump.

I took a 12 hour road trip with my car.
At the time it was SLP headers, SLP hi-flow cats, and the Loudmouth. The trip was hell. It was weird to finally not here that drone once I parked the car.

The set-up wasn't TOO bad until I added a cam. Then is REALLY started sounding like crap. I ended up cutting off the Loudmouth. Magnaflow!!!!!

I run Flowtechs with the Loudmouth and an ory. It is loud at WOT, and can have a sound around 2200-3000 while crusing. I have some video clips if you would like I will send you one inside the car, and one of me making a pass at the track outside the car.

DevonZ- Nice vid! Car sounds nice! Man it sure looked like you ran faster than a 13.0 though! Looked like you had a great launch, and never really stopped.... Anyway.. nice car!

As for the LM exhaust.... I had the Loudmouth modular setup installed on my 1996 SS. I put the system on and at first start-up i was a little nervous with all the rasp, popping... BUT... That goes away pretty fast once warmed up. Once warm, The system sounds great. However; I found i could not use just the clamps to hold the system together. My stuff kept shifting around, so i had a buddy of mine weld it up to stop the shifting. Once welded, it was noticeably quieter. I remember coming home at night, and my hearing be dim from the exhaust. Anything over 2K had bad drone. But after welding, it was MUCH more civilized. I couldnt imagine it being just clamped with headers, and no cats..... OMG. Can you say NASCAR? I loveee the V8 sound, and i've always said it can never be to loud. I did learn something, when you cant stand to drive it anymore cuz of the noise, yes it can be too loud. I'd say stick with the cats, and that should sound like a beast, but yes go with the Loudmouth for sure. I was suprised with the quality of the product. I hit my pipes up with Mothers Chrome polish before it got all put together and hung on the car. Man, it looked realllllllllly nice under there!!! I have no opinion on headers, as i've never owned or dealt with them before. Get your exhaust from LM Performance. They are one of the sponsors -----------------------------------> Great customer service, best deal on the LM kit that i've seen, fast shipping! GL!
