Default How can I make a quiet true dual?

How can I make a quiet true dual?

I want the power of a TD system.
But I don't want my neighbors hating me.

they only thing you can do with true dual's is run cat's and run quiet muffler. a buddie of mine has some raven muffler's that arn't any louder then stock below about 2k and only mild above that. don't know what hp he lost with his set up though cause it wasn't dynoed and compared to other's.

If youre running them out the back, you can put bullets in the normal location and then put real mufflers under the hatch.

You just do it the same way you quiet anything...use a bigger, and potentially more restrictive muffler.

Magnaflow Mufflers make good power and are reasonably quiet.

How about stock exhaust with a electric cutout...Quiet as hell when you want...and with the push of a button...Loud as hell, and will give you just as much power

You can run longer bullets, or even run two pairs of them. Dunno what it'd do to your power, though.

I'd just do one pair of bullets, and if the neighbors get their panties in a wad, tell them you're sick and tired of hearing them mowing their yard on the weekend, or some excuse to be loud back at them kinda.

Hmm, good suggestions...

I didn't know I could actually fit anything but bullets under that thing..

I am thinking maybe a cat back would be a better solution, because if I double muffle the true dual, I am thinking the power-loss would put it on equal feilds as a cat-back

Power loss from running two or three or four inline bullets or magnaflow or borla flow through mufflers should be on par with straight pipe of the same length.

Well, you could put longer/more 3" bullets in a dual system, and it'll still flow enough to make power, yet be sorta tame at the same time.

You can definitely do it, it just won't be cheap. You'll need to run 4 Borla XR1 mufflers (2 per side). 2 parallel to each other (in opposing directions) under the fuel tank, and 2 right before the exhaust tips.

my duals arent too loud, 2.5 inch pipes with pacesetter LT's. Nice idle, very loud once I go 1/2 throttle. I just dont go around the neighborhood with the pedal down much.

if i told you what i did to mine before i sold it, you would **** yourself. it was a 3 inch true duals with 16 inch bullets and it was quieter than stock.. and it had the appearance of just the regular true duals..cosmetically, it looked like the tsp true duals, but sounded like a minivan.
