I have installed this catback on my current car and the one before it. You should have no problems whatsoever doing the install with jackstands.

As far as the painting question, the system is constructed of aluminized steel. I haven't seen any rust on mine and haven't heard of anyone with any durability problems. Install it as is and you'll be fine. Your gonna love this catback!! Good luck!

the hooker cat back is one of the finest fitting and best sounding C/B there is ,a bloody knuckle or two and you will be happy noprob on jackstand, A nice sawzall is always appreciated though!

Yeah no kidding! You will need something to cut your factory exhaust off. The install is very straight forward. Hooker even included instructions on what to do if you are unclear. Like I said, straight forward.

Not bad to install. However, I did need to trim the tailpipes 3 inches so the tips didn't stick out too far.

I've had mine on for 3.5 years and its still good.

Biggest pain of the install was getting the factory system off.

I've done a couple of installs, and a SAWZALL really helps, unless you have really strong arms and shoulders to hack the old system off of the car.We assembled the new cat back and measured against the old one before cutting.Rule of thumb"measure twice, cut once". $.02

Yeah you need to cut the pipes at the back down some so the tips dont stick out. I just took mine to an exhaust shop after my buddy and I put headers and y pipe on (we had spent most of the morning and afternoon swapping that out and didnt feel like taking the stock crap off). Drove with those wide open for only a few miles, and they cut my stock **** off but I saved most of it.

It's a great sounding exhaust, and priced very reasonable (even better if you can get a better deal like I did).

The muffler shouldn't break down, it doesn't have any packing afaik, should stay the same loudness (my last exhaust got a lot louder which I hated).
I painted mine before install - even if it's not needed for rust I like the pipes better "invisible".

Here's mine. I didn't cut anything or move anything. They are pretty much in line with the top of the bumper. If you stand behind the car directly above the bumper and look down, you can't see the tips. I think it looks just fine.

hooker muffler internals are stainless, there is no break-in. It's as loud as it's gonna get.
