Default Intake Question

In the future i want to get a ram-air hood for my 01 z28, however i was planning on getting the slp lid and cold-air induction set-up. Should i just get the lid, and later on get the hood? OR Should I get the lid and the cold-air induction with no hood?????

IMHO, Id get the lid and the SLP CAS then later on get the hood....You wanting a functional or non-functional hood? WS6 style, SS style, or Ultra Z style??? Functional ones arent really worth much HP wise, maybe 5 hp or so at higher speeds like 90-100mph+

Get the lid and either the hood or the cold air induction system...All you really need is one or the other to force air into your airbox. IMO you should get the hood for looks and semi function if you have the money for it... then do w/out the cold air induction system and simply do the free ram air mod...It'll look good and perform good.

The ram air from underneath is just as good as through the hood. I'd just get a lid and bottom feeding ram air. When you get the hood you can still use your "bottom feeder" ram air. No need to switch ram air locations when you get the hood. Ram air through a WS6 hood won't show any gains over an under the fender system.

It's just in the looks....either one works good. Doing the free ram air mod does almost the same thing that the cold air kit does....but doesn't suck up any water.

The one thing nice about a ram air kit vs. the FRA is that you will be pulling cooler air from underneath. The FRA is going to be pulling warmer air from near the radiator.
