Default 01 tb vs 98 tb

ok i'm looking to buy a 01 tb and i know it has the adjustable idle screw where my 98's doesn't but are there any other differances between the 2???

Coolant hard lines are a little different, can't remember what else. I don't recall the set screw (idle adjustment) being in a different place though?

This is off of jrps sticky in the external section.


- The '98-'99 F-body throttle bodies have a smaller cam compared to the '00-'02 F-body TB's
- The smaller radius throttle cam opens the throttle plate faster

There is some mods to be done if you get another year throttlebody.

Ive never seen the 2 side by side, but from what I understand, the "gear" that the throttle cable uses to open the blade is smaller on the '98 tb.

I would try to for the ease of installation. When I got my ported throttle body from LPE there were alot more of the 98-99 bodies than the lonely 00.

The throttle shaft cam is much smaller on the 98 as compared to the 00-02. The swap won't work with your existing throttle cable. I've tried.
