Default Good news about my LTs!

Went down today and got everything sorted out at the shop. They had the headers installed VERY cleanly as well as changing the plugs. They just needed my approval on the Y pipe and all that jazz.
Anyhow I decided to go with just one big high flow cat that connects to the catback instead of 2 small cats. 2 Small cats wouldnt fit properly (drivers side would get torn off b.c of clearance issues).

So yea they let me fire it up w open headers and OMG.....it sounded like a freaking top fuel (so im exaggerating, sue me) dragster. So after install of the headers/new plugs (yes ALL 8)/new wires/ custom Y-pipe + highflow cat my bill with labor is gonig to come to just about $600. Thats a pretty decent deal right?

Considering the level of difficulty, yeah I'd agree that $600 is a fair price.

If I were to do another header install on a fourth-gen, I'd charge $600 too

Price includes the price of the cat as well as additional piping.

Ditch the cat. One cat b4 the catback aint gonna flow enough. Also, being so far downstream probably wont allow the cat to heat up enough to do its job anyway.

I am majorly worried about a visual inspection (I have a tendancy to get pulled over....A LOT and not b.c I drive like a jerk. Its just my bad luck.) And Ive noticed that some emissions places have been visual checking random cars that pass through. I am having my cousin install a flange to where I can unbolt the ends of the LTs and move the rest aside for strip.

Def. ditch the cat if at all possible. Like said above, with it placed way down there, it prob. won't work well enough for you to pass a sniffer test anyways.

Bad location for the cat. It's too far downstream and won't get hot enough to be effective. One big cat won't flow nearly as well as two small cats on both sides of the y-pipe, and will be a big restriction.
