o2/headers need help
I just bought a set of hooker headers(used) and need some advise. I started pulling off factory stuff and notice I've got front and rear o2's, the headers have a place for the fronts(I guess) but the hooker y-pipe doesn't have a place for the rear. So I'm trying to figure out what to do. Anybody know what to do? The car is a 2002 SS

Does the y-pipe have cats? If not, just get some o2 sims for the rear o2's or have the codes deleted. If there's cats there, any exhaust shop can weld bungs for the o2's to screw into. I guess you could eliminate the rear o2's even if you had cats if you want since all they do is tell the computer if the cats are functioning properly or not.

You have 3 options 1) Buy a set of O2 sims to put in the place of the rear O2's 2) Unplug the rear O2's and live with the SES light or 3) Unplug the O2's and have the SES light tuned out.
Either way the rear O2's just verify that you cats are still good. I assume you have a ORY and do not have cats therefore don't need rear O2's. Hell, I a catted Y and still don't run rear O2's.

Thanks for all the advise on my install. Everything went together pretty quick, 6 hours by myself. SES light came on after about 15 miles of driving to check for banging, leaks. Everything cleared, it's very close to stock setup. Going to buy sims in the morning and check codes.
