Default HEI Type ignition for going carbed?

I have heard that some one is making a hei type ign. system for the lxs. Does anyone know anything about this?

As in a distributor?
I wouldn't think that would work, what would drive it, I suppose you could have something fabbed up, but I'd think the cost would be crazy.

Yes it is a dist. drive set-up. I have heard of a few people using it and can't find out where they are getting it from.

Only ignition I've ever seen for carbed lsx's is the MSD control module that fires the factory coil packs. Anybody else ever heard of an ls1 with a distributor? I'm thinking it would involve some major machining for the block, totally different cam.......not saying it hasn't been done, but I'm not sure why anyone would do it.

Just found it, Its made by GM found it in the gmpp book. Part # is 88958679
