its a good underdrive pulley alot of people on here have that pulley, i am gonna get the same one here soon. ASP is the pulley that seems to throw belts for some guys, and its easy to install just get a three point pulley puller and a new crank bolt and you will be set. there are tons of writeups for it aswell.

yeah but the SLP have the added assurance of the bigger lip on the outside of the pulley to keep the belts safe and secure on the pulley, not sayin ASP pulleys are bad but SLP has alittle more reliability so to speak.

if you have or plan to have a bigger sound system in your car the lights might dim some but unless you go very big you should be o.k does it have belts with it ?

speaking of pulleys

is the underdrive pulley the only pulley that should be changed when it comes to modding? or are there other ones i should change?

you could change the alternator pulley if its an automatic to keep the volts up, the tensioner might need to be changed, but that keeps the stock pulley just different bracket. and the Idler pulleys like to squeek on these cars but thats an easy fix, only if the pulley squeeks of course.

The crank pulley is the one you want to change; some guys go with a smaller alternator pulley in addition, but it is easy to turn in the first place (most of the gains come from the smaller crank pulley, anyway).

Kewl, thanks guys. Now I need a bunch of free warm weekends to do this and other small jobs. The prevous seller gave me new belts and the pulley, but not sure about a new crank bolt. Is that something you only can get at the stealership?

Why do you have to use a new crank bolt. The stock one is not a Torque Yield bolt or so I've been told.

yea i have the asp one now for about month and so far no probs. mine came with a bigger alt pulley, so i put it on, but now my volts drop near the top of red. so after i go to the track on sunday im gonna install my stock alt. pulley which is way smaller then the one that came with the asp crank pulley.

Seems the seller also provided a large bolt, which I'll bet is the crank bolt. Even less effort for me to install it some weekend here, no more excuses. ;o)

Not to hijack the thread, but can we fit a 3-ton 3-arm puller on the pulley with the radiator/fan in?
I used one to pull my pulley when I installed my cam, but that puller is a big sonofabitch and it seems like it might not fit w/ the whole radiator/fan setup in the car still.

3-ton pulley puller why do you need one that big??? but if you have taken a pulley off before with it then i guess use it, but you most likely will have to take the radiator and cooling fans off.

And the crank bolts you can only use once, so your best bet will be to use the new one.

You could always get the Powerbond pulley from TSP. Its the same freakin pulley as SLP just without the logo & price increase.

I've had an ASP pulley for about 6 months now. The belt started squeeking once so I popped the hood to check it out...the accessories belt was half way of the pullies. Its the only time its happened, we'll see if it happens again. If it does, I might switch to SLP.
